GREAT SJS SPIRIT AT LT MEET!

What a morning! We had fog to start with for the 5th grade races and then sunshine and heat by the time the 8th grade races rolled around.  Our runners set better personal paces this meet and that was very exciting to see.  The coaches have noted everyone on the team has shown improvement and they couldn't be prouder of them.

Pasta Party at Whitlock Park

A huge thanks to Mrs. Dickey for hosting our pasta party this week.  What a great way to end a good work out and enjoy time together before our meet tomorrow.  The weather will add surprise to our parties each week - be sure to come prepared with sweatshirts and warm ups for the next pasta party!!!!

  Happy Labor Day!

Wow...Our first official meet for St. Joe Cross Country is in the books.  Thanks to everyone, both runners and parents, for bearing up in the heat and humidity yesterday.   All our runners finished and everyone helped each other with cheers and water.  Really great efforts by all!  Special thanks to Jeff and Eileen Gentile for our pre-race dinneron Friday night (start of a tradition), to Doug Vlasak and Judy Flavin for walking the kids over the course and coaching throughout the day, to Jeff Gentile for our unique pre-race prayer (start of a tradition), to Katalina Martinez for joining the 6th grade girls (giving us a team score), to all the parents for supporting all our kids, and to the 7th and 8th graders for waiting patiently for their races (we may make adjustments on arrival times).  27 schools and about 700 kids competed in the meet.
